| Our volunteers are very important to us, and to our clients. We have so many opportunities to help, from direct services with clients to fun special events. We start with our 75 hour training, held four times per year. The training runs for six weeks, and is currently held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings . |

After training is finished, an interview with the Outreach and Education Program Manager is completed, and upon deciding which area(s) you would like to volunteer in, you start volunteering! |

These are the areas in which you can volunteer: Case Management: Assessing clients’ needs and giving them the referrals and resources available to them. As well as court accompaniment when needed. Trauma Response Advocates: On-call response to area hospitals. Advocate for sexual assault and domestic violence victims who are in the emergency room. Emergency transport as needed. Legal Advocate: Assist clients through the process of restraining orders, mediation, and court accompaniment. Children and Teen Programs: We have two group programs, Kids Count! and Teens Count! Work with children 5-12 years or 13-17 years. Helping them understand that violence is not their fault, and safety plans. Shelter/Crisis Line: Our crisis line and shelter are open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We have opportunities available to answer the crisis line, provide crisis intervention for our clients in the shelter and daycare during support groups for the moms. Administration: If you are interested in the administration aspect of our agency, we welcome your assistance in answering our office phone, filing, organizing, etc. Informational tables: We have opportunities to go to various events, such as the local university, colleges, etc. and set up information tables. This is a great opportunity to educate the public about violence against women and children and to answer any questions about our agency. Special Events/Fundraisers: This is an opportunity to help out at our Street Fair, Golf Tournament, and Gatsby events. We have a lot of fun, and it helps our agency and clients. |
